For salt water, doing the manifolds just becomes more labour intensive and costly. Again, I don't know for salt water, but I think the cats can be transferred to new manifolds if and when needed. I know up here in Canada we run 91 octane fuel to get away from E10 fuel, but 87 octane should be just fine, even for a cat equipped engine.
